+2 Science

+2 Science (NEB)

Last Updated: 2025-01-25

The Science faculty at the +2 level is a two-year program designed for students interested in exploring the physical and natural world through observation and experimentation. It is an excellent choice for those who aspire to build careers in science, technology, or technical professions.

In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge in subjects like physics, biology, chemistry, and mathematics. This phase combines classroom learning with hands-on practical sessions to help students develop a solid understanding of core scientific concepts. As they move into the second year, students can specialize by selecting one subject—physics, biology, or chemistry—based on their interests and future goals. Overall, science education emphasizes a balanced development of theoretical insight and practical skills.

The Science Stream is divided into two categories: Physical Group and Biological Group.

  • Physical Group: This category includes subjects such as English, Nepali, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computer Science. It is tailored for students who aim to pursue careers in Engineering or other fields within Physical Sciences.
  • Biological Group: This category comprises subjects like English, Nepali, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. It is ideal for students planning to venture into Medicine, Biotechnology, Biosciences, or related areas.

The candidates can receive the application form from the administration office or authorized center by paying the fee structured by College/University.

  • All Nepalese and foreign candidates must meet the entrance requirement of NEB.
  • Domicile certificate or passport for foreign students(2 copies).
  • Students from the general stream should be SEE/SLC passed or equivalence.

The scope of +2 Science courses (commonly known as the 12th-grade Science curriculum) is vast and diverse, offering students numerous opportunities for higher education and career paths. Here are some key aspects:

1. Higher Education Opportunities
  • Engineering: Students can pursue B.Tech or B.E. in various fields such as Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science, and Electronics.
