About the Programme

With the aim to produce higher level academic manpower such as teachers, teacher educators, education planners and administrators, Rainbow International College(RIC). This is a two-year semester-based programme offered in various subjects. The course provides the students with the understanding and expertise mandatory for developing them as professionally capable teachers and trainers. Students have to study 66 credit hours in total where 18 credit hours are allocated for first three semesters and 15 credit hours are allocated for the fourth semester. The programme consists of professional/pedagogical core courses and specialization courses. The Specialization areas offered at the campus include Curriculum and Evaluation, Educational Planning and Management, English Education, Nepali Education, Mathematics Education, and Health and Physical Education.

Scope of Master of Education (M.Ed.)

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) program offers a wide range of career opportunities in the education sector and beyond. It equips graduates with advanced knowledge in teaching, educational leadership, research, and curriculum development. Here are some key areas where M.Ed. graduates can build their careers:

1. Teaching & Academia
  • Become a university or college lecturer in education and related fields.
  • Teach at higher secondary levels, specializing in subjects like pedagogy, curriculum design, or educational psychology.
  • Work as a teacher trainer, mentoring and developing future educators.

  • Serve as a principal, vice-principal, or academic coordinator in schools, colleges, and universities.

Eligibility for selecting M.Ed

  • Students with Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Tribhuvan University or the university recognized by Tribhuvan University are eligible for the admission to the Master’s Programme.
  • Students who wish to have a particular specialization area must have passed the same specialization subject in Bachelor’s programme.
